There are many issues that come up in today's society related to the topic of abortion. Women are often put into tough situations where they are threatened with losing their jobs, custody of their children, or even being sentenced to jail for ending a pregnancy. This can occur because of social stigma on women who have abortions or because there is not enough guidance on how to conduct an abortion safely. However, one woman in Missouri has found a way to positively deal with her personal decision by documenting her journey through the process through an inspiring blog that she started called A Woman's Story Blog. This blog is a valuable resource for women who are considering or have decided to have an abortion. Dawn Stone, the creator of this blog, talks about having an abortion in her own words, so that she can connect with other women who are going through similar issues. Dawn Stone graduated with a college degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in 1998. She then went on to work for various companies in her field until 2005 when she became the director in charge of development for Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri in Olathe. During this time she discovered that her position had changed to "Crisis Project Manager" for their department which focused on crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs). Dawn began to realize that the funds being donated to Planned Parenthood were being used towards stopping abortion centers. She also discerned that the anti-abortion movement was not willing to compromise on any decision regarding abortion, regardless of whether it was for life threatening issues or only because the mother only did not feel like she wanted to be pregnant at that point in time. Dawn decided to start blogging about her personal experience with abortion in order to connect with other women who are thinking about having one. The blog is titled “A Woman's Story” and can be seen by viewing this link: http://dawnstonestoryblog.blogspot. com/. After Dawn had her first child with her husband, Michael Stone, who also is an attorney, she began to have many health issues. She began having excessive pain in her ovaries and was afraid that it might be ovarian cysts. She decided to tell her doctor about this issue because she had three previous ruptured cysts before which caused painful experiences. The nurse then told her that they were too small to rupture, but they might end up doing so in the future. A few months later she went back for another check-up and told the nurse that she was still having the same problems. She did not know how to handle this problem, so she decided to go back to the doctor. She was then informed that she had one of the most common forms of cancer in women which is epithelial ovarian cancer. The doctor told her that it was not abnormal for her type of cancer to spread to other parts of the body, so she must follow any instructions that were given to her time after time in order for this disease to be completely cured. Dawn started chemotherapy and then radiation which ended up pulling 1/3 of all her hair out. cfa1e77820
